I don't know, if it will be there forever, since I haven't read the TOS of the way back machine.

I wouldn't republish an article without the permission of the original author, despite of it being a rescue or not.

I haven't checked out the list of authors, so I haven't contacted anyone at all.

I looked at the TOS for your newsletter. Individual authors retain copyrights to their articles, but the "newsletter publishing team" has copyrighted the issues. I *think* this means you have the right to republish the issues, but not the individual articles. If you put aside a section of the wiki for newsletter issues and copy entire issues there, you should be okay.

The Liberty BASIC Newsletter had a TOS that specifically stated that the publishers could republish articles, which we do/have done at the LBPE.

I keep a backup of the 17 zip files. But I do not have internet access at the moment, just logged from my cell-phone.

I wouldn't consider a move to an active website from a dead one to be republishing. The URL isn't an important consideration, is it?

The URL is not a problem at all, the content is important.

A rewrite might just be a way to polish things up a bit.

The top section of the site is a listing of individual newsletters but the site holding them is not in operation; but the archive links of the same listing shown on the bottom act as workable download links to zip files for each article. The downloading apparently works. The newsletters then are still available if desiring to download them.

Does anyone happen to have the last three archived newsletters? I attempted to access them all through http://web.archive.org/web/20110202221915/http://jbasicnews.com/, but #15, #16, and #17 are no longer available.

Thanks,
Joe

I think I have them. I'm on my phone right now, so I can't check.

As an alternative, look at the Wiki for Just Basic, which has a link at the bottom of the forum's main page.

I wish someone would resume writing and publishing a JB newsletter. Activity on the forum is very low recently, so very little chance that anyone skillful enough will take the lead for this.

Tooanalytical,

I know the JB Wiki has a few things and the LB Wiki has a lot more. Just thought I'd glean as much background information I can for my own personal "library" as a reference. It's amazing the amount of info I can pull up with the wikis and forums (most of which is above my skill level).

Regards,
Joe

I have uploaded them to the Files Site:
JB Newsletters #15 #16 #17
I can't remember is these were already available at the Wiiki, in any case I would say that these files are available temporary.

About the low activity, it is normal for all the forums, except sports related forums. All of them had decayed a little, some forums are not more online. We are lucky. Social networks took over. But we are still here.

I can't say I've much/any experience with social networks, but a technical discussion forum like ours seems unsuitable for a social network thing to substitute for it(the forum). JB conforum lets us choose a category in which to put a topic for discussion, and we can see the basic forum outline from the home-page; and we can pick link downward from any main board or forum and find what category we want to review.
