xx Beginners Guide To Basic Programming
« Thread started on: Oct 22nd, 2004, 7:20pm »

You know Just Basic has its roots in Liberty Basic. Many of the commands are identical. Perhaps you have heard people speak of the LB Newsletter. There is a series of articles for the beginning programmer that apply equally to JB as they do to LB!

If you are new to JB, then maybe the thing to do is to start going throught the Beginning Programmers Series in the newsletter. Is starts the programmer out at the beginning and slowly adds to thier skill set.

The series is spread out over several issues of the newsletter, but it begins with part 1 in newsletter 104. Here are links to all the existing chapters in the tutorial:

Part 1: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl104/15.htm

Part 2: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl106/BradHome.htm

Part 3: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl107/begprg.htm

Part 4: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl109/beginner4.htm

Part 5: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl110/BegProg1.htm

Part 6: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl113/beghome.htm

Part 7: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl117/bpsPart1.htm

Part 8: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl120/begprg1.htm

Part 9: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl124/beg9a.htm

Part 10: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl127/beg10_01.htm

Part 11: http://babek.info/libertybasicfiles/lbnews/nl132/begprog11a.htm

The series continues with Part 12 will be coming out pretty soon...

The most important thing for beginners is to understand the logic of programming. Just like for linguists to understand the Language as a system. The rules and connections can be very much similar in different languages, both natural and artificial.

Hi I really appreciate you to give a knowledge beg to the beginners. But according to me it will help to the experts as well because in these days we rely on the CMS or any tools to develop a program we forgot all the basics of the Programing.

It's asking a lot to expect a thread started in 2004 to be still current!
You could try LB Newsletters
There are many useful resources linked from the LB site ( JB is the restricted-facilities version of LB)
If you are finding a particular programming task difficult, explain it and you are sure to get good answers...

I use XP and Ubuntu Linux on old machines!

You can download all the issues from the wiki, and have them for off line access.

There is also now a second edition of Jerry Ford's Programming for the Absolute Beginner, which teaches Just BASIC.

Click to see the book details on Amazon
