« Thread started on: Nov 16th, 2009, 3:48pm »

Hi Guys,

I have followed the instructions for making a stand alone application - making a tkn, renaming jbrun, including the six other programs, etc.,. but I still can't get it working. I am using Windows XP.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

George

Gee, I'm sorry, George... but there are 10 files you will need for your standalone. Making an EXE of your Program.

Try again... if you still have difficulty, post again.

Good luck to you!

Does your application use support files like BMPs or WAVs?
If so, have you included them in your 'build' folder?

Is there any code in your application that points to a folder?
If so, it can't be hard coded, ie C:\Program Files\Just BASIC v1.01\my program\BMPs.
Instead use DefaultDir$;"\BMPs"

The "six other programs" part makes me think that you looked at a dialog box listing programs and files which did not display everything unless you perform a scroll; in which case you did not see all the DLL or SLL files and failed to include a couple of them. on Nov 16th, 2009, 3:48pm, georgepruitt wrote:

Thanks Guys for the input. There is a post at:

http://justbasic.wikispaces.com/Your+Standalone+JB+Program

This post shows only six additional files instead of the eight that is needed (not counting the .tkn and .exe). Everything works fine now. This is a great forum! I always get my questions answered very quickly.

My apologies, George. I don't even remember writing that page for the Wiki spaces, but it is in error and does not agree with the other pages I have written as two of the DLL files are not listed.

Now I'm going to have to play with the Wiki and learn how to make changes and correct the image which I posted.

Glad you finally got your program working! wink

A: Go ahead. I had my share of good then I coded it for fun, if you can make better use of it - please do.
