xx Problem - I can only run a program once.
« Thread started on: Feb 20th, 2007, 10:54pm »

I recently downloaded just BASIC and have been having an issue. Whenever I run a program, exit it, and then attempt to run it again or run another, I get and error. The error reads "Runtime Error: Class already exists. ( OS error 16r582 )"

I know this isn't a problem with my code, as it has happened with user-written code from this site as well. It doesn't matter what I run, or what I try to run next. Exiting and restarting the program fixes it, but I can only run something once before having to exit again. Naturally, this is a pain. Any idea how I fix this?

Programs need to be properly terminated with an END statement. When they're not, they sometimes continue running in the background. Check out this discussion

cant run a program?

This bug is fixed in the latest version of LB, but there is no JB 1.02 out now, where it would be fixed.

The END will be added by JB/LB by adding one extra line at the very end of your programs code.
You can check this when you compile a program, the line count is increased by one.

i think that kaithespy has not missed off end, but has a problem with her JB. I had the same problem a while ago, but ended up just reinstalling JB, and the problem was fixed. Maybe the bug can be looked into?

i was having a similar problem, when John told me about something similar he had, and how it had been a keylogger. I then checked Trend housecall, and i found i had loads on my system. I recomend it, even if you have a virus checker of your own, because i have a checker, which never found a thing, and then i tried another, and I found loads. I hope that helps.
