Why Just BASIC?

A PowerPoint 2003 Presentation by Pietro Gagliardi

http://www.andlabs.com/files/wjb.ppt - 50KB

If you don't have PowerPoint 2003 or a compatible office suite, you can download the free PowerPoint Viewer 2003 from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=428D5727-43AB-4F24-90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en (only 2MB).

This slide show shows you how easy Just BASIC is by giving you 3 sample programs.

As many know though not a particularly knowledgeable programmer, but from time to time I was a fairly regular contributor to both the JB and LB News Letters. I am sure many will agree with me, it is a great pity it was found necessary to close down both the NLs, though the JB ones did survive a little longer. There are of course alternative methods for submitting articles such as the vast Wikispaces organisation, and the existing NLs are still stored there. But I personally have never managed to fathom out how to submit articles to this complex haystack, or how anyone would ever find it, bearing in mind it hosts a vast amount of information on all manner of subjects. Also for some reason I have never been able to understand why there has always been a reluctance to accept the sort of full demonstration programs I am fond of submitting, accompanied by a fairly short description of its working. Instead the prevalence is to just to explain how to perform various tasks, while I prefer to show a proven working example for all to amend and extract parts for their own use.

I understand the main problem in maintaining the valuable NLs was in finding experienced volunteers to vet all material submitted, though I cannot understand why a supposed working program involves a great deal of extra work. It either works or is does not.
